Asian Contest for Architectural Rookie Award (ACARA) is an International contest for students of Architecture, held every year in different Asian countries in order to contribute to architectural education and establish rich networking associated with modern architecture in Asia.
This design competition has its own uniqueness and it is open for the current 3rd / 4th / 5th year students to present their 2nd / 3rd / 4th Year B. Arch Architectural Design work respectively.

The objective of ACARA competition is to review, judge & evaluate architectural works and ideas created by
students studying architectural design in universities in various countries across Asia like Malaysia,
Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Japan, Vietnam & India.

VIT’s PVP college of architecture Pune is the host for the Indian domestic contest for ACARA, for which
invitation is sent to all the colleges recognised by the Council of Architecture in India. Every College can
send 2 representative entries. “Theme” decided by the organizers is floated to colleges all over India.
Jury panel for ACARA:Indian domestic contest involves more than 10 eminent jury members across India who are
leading academicians, out of which some jury members are invited from colleges with winning entries in the
previous year.
2 Gold and 3 Silver winners are awarded in this competition.All winners receive a cash prize along with a
certificate and trophy.
Top 2 Gold winners from Indian Domestic contest are nominated for presenting their work in international
competition of ACARA.
