ACARA

AUA is international and professional architect’s and educator’s group which is organized in Asia. AUA is not authoritarian organization but brisk group with broad presence. Asian emerging countries are growing rapidly in terms of building and development, but there are some problems that must be settled in order to accomplish further growth.

ACARA is an International contest for students of Architecture to a good opportunity to bring out potential ability and to improve ability of architectural design to students which is held every year in order to contribute to architectural education and establish rich networking associated with modern architecture in Asia. 

The objective of the ACARA is to review, judge, and evaluate architectural works and ideas created by students studying architectural designs in universities in Asia.

This contest is held in different Asian countries every year in order to contribute to architectural education and establish rich networking associated with modern architecture.

Dr. Youngil Lee from Japan is the Chief organiser for ACARA. The objective of ACARA competition is to review, judge & evaluate architectural works and ideas created by students studying architectural design in universities in various countries across Asia like South Korea, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, Mongolia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Nepal, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Japan, Vietnam & India.

Ar. Prof. Prasanna Desai is the Convenor of Indian Domestic Contest For Architectural Rookies, (hosted by PVP College of architecture).

This design competition has its own uniqueness that it is open only for the current 4th year students to present their 2nd and 3rd Year B. Arch Architectural Design work. Design work, which is an important bench mark & mid destination in the five year long course of Architecture.

Invitation are sent to all the 400 plus colleges recognised by Council of Architecture in India.

PVPCOA, Pune seeks the opportunity to host and conduct the entire Indian Domestic Contest for ACARA since August 2014and plans to continue it further. Every year a rigorous effort of more than a month is put in by the coordinating team to make this event a grand success. Information consisting of brief of the contest along with duly designed posters are floated to almost all colleges in India by means of hard copies as well as soft copies. 

Every year about 60 students participate in the contest across India, participating from around 30 colleges.

Only 2 individual entries per college are allowed to participate in the contest. 

  1. A) ELIGIBILITY:

1) Bonified students of 3rd or 4th year B.Arch (of academic session studying in any Architectural Institute in India recognized by Council of Architecture.

2) The projects will be selected based on the topic for the running year ACARA. Entries from 2nd and 3rd year students of the running academic batch will be accepted.

Stage 4 : Presentation of entries to the Jury Panel at PVPCOA, Pune

JURY PANEL: 

Jury panel for Indian domestic contest for ACARA involves more than 10 jury members out of which 4-5 jury members will be from colleges with winning entries in previous year.

AWARDS :

Indian Contest – Top 2 Gold Awards worth Rs.10,000 each  & 3 Silver Awards worth Rs.5000 each along with a certificate and trophy. 

Top 2 Gold winners out of these 5 awardees from Indian Domestic contest will be nominated for presenting their work in ACARA.
