The Academic Forum forms a part of a broad structure of committees that are instrumental in the pedagogical and logistical performance of the Institute. These committees include the Governing Council, Advisory Board, Local Management Committee and the Academic Forum.

Role and organizational structure :

The role of the Academic Forum is to ensure the translation and percolation of Academic Vision as shaped by the Advisory Board into the academic environment of five years of graduation and two years of post graduate education in architecture.

The organization of Academic Forum is headed by the Academic Chair, Director, Academic Coordinator and the three Experts, appointed as Chairs,  in the field of Design, Technology and Humanities and Academic Advisors for PG Programmes.. They are further assisted by Mentors of each academic year in undergraduate programme and Programme Coordinators of  postgraduate programs.

The mentors & Program coordinators are supported by the Year Coordinators for each year along with the team of faculty members to interpret the critical discussions into forming intents, methodologies for each subject and to ensure vertical and horizontal linkages of all subjects across the discipline of Architecture.

Functioning of the Academic Forum

An important function of the Academic Forum is to frame ‘ Academic Proposals’ and ensure its suitable expression in terms of co – curricular activities, co – academic activities, Faculty resource manual, Quality Improvement Programs, Publications, student forum activities, library, etc.

These proposals are deliberated on Academic Review meetings which happen at the start and the end of each semester. Academic Reviews are attended by respective Year Coordinators and Individual Subject Coordinators. It is encouraged for other faculty members and visiting faculty members to participate in this critical dialog.

The pedagogical growth of PVPCOA is ensured through the above process of vision building and deliberations.
