PVPCoA is always in the constant stride of knowledge up-gradation, and hence try to go beyond the formal classroom and the studio environment!

The primary focus of any academic institution has always been that of a Studio and Classroom environment. However, opportunities of exposure and interactions has equally played an important role in a student’s learning process throughout his / her journey of education. Acknowledging its importance and need we at PVPCoA thrust upon and implement this at both our Graduate and Post-Graduate Courses.

In the near past, we have had eminent people from the fraternity and otherwise visit our institute with various intentions. They have been from all over India as well as few guests from among international organisations have also paid their visit to our Institute. To name a few Ar. B.V. Doshi, Ar. Neelkanth Chaaya, Ar. Rabindra Vasavada, Ar. Brinda Somaya, Ar. Sarosh Pradhan, Ar. Revathi Kamath, Er. Manjunath, Ar. Vijay Garg, Ar. Habeeb Khan, Ar. Sathyaprakash Varanasi, Ar. Bijoy Ramachandran, Ar. Amita Sinha, Ar. Frank Leons, Ar. Robert Oshtaz, Ar. Joana Dabaj & Yasaman and many more. Along with professionals we also have had visitors like students from various architectural institutes across India visit our Institute and witness the work, environment and culture that PVPCoA instils throughout the year and as a part of their everyday routine. Students from institutes like MET School of Architecture and Interior Design, Nashik and very special guest from border affected areas like Leh and Ladhak studying in Pune have also visited our Institute as an exposure to the students from outside our institute spreading the work that we are doing and enhancing newer collaborations.

These interactions are not only facilitated for the students but for the teachers. There are various interaction sessions organised only for teachers wherein serious deliberations from pedagogical, research as well as practice point of view are conducted providing different insights from the outside world.

During such visits from eminent group of architects, researchers, students, etc. our students get an opportunity to interact with them formally and informally whether it is while touring them within the college premises showing them the spaces, installations, exhibition gallery, ongoing studio explorations, etc. or any other such opportunity available.

At PVPCoA, we have always believed in encouraging students to discover their own resources. The facilitation of these interactions gives them the opportunity to connect with these visitors of diverse nature and disciplines from beyond the experts involved in the daily academic activities. As facilitators of such interactions we provide all the freedom to the students to engage themselves with the speaker / visitor.

Many a times these interactions spark a curiosity within the students and their attention is held when these experts share some of their exciting experiences through their short story telling sessions (informal interactive sessions). Such a way of expression by the speaker comforts and encourages students to ask questions and take forward the interaction. This helps engage students inclusively with the topic / concern of discussion.

We at PVPCoA also believe in giving time for reflection upon any such exposures and interactions facilitated towards the holistic growth of the students. These reflections are either take a form of informal discussions post these interactions or an interaction into the academic classrooms wherein students bring in their perspectives within the studio discussions, etc. Reflections play a very important part in the overall development of our team of students and teachers.

Last but not the least facilitation to such exposure and interaction further strengthens our belief in creating sensitive and socially conscious architects who can contribute in shaping our built environment.
