FINAL THESIS JURY

The final thesis jury is organized by the Institute every year on the second Saturday in the month of March. It gives thesis students an opportunity to demonstrate their work to athree-member jury panel comprising of eminent external jurors – one from the city of Pune and one from outside Pune, accompanied by the Institute’s internal guide. The selected jurors are architects, urban designers, conservationists, and landscapists who have played a significant role in shaping architectureand, through that, society.

THE INTENT

The jury gives the students wide exposure and an occasion for retrospection. Intense discussions with external jury members generate a third person’s perspectivewhich, in turn, provides feedback on the work tabled by the students. The studentsexhibit all their work inclusive of drawings and study models which have been through the stages from synopsis to design development.Using methods of continuous enquiry, study, investigation, and research students select a topic in their area of interest and based on his/her potential. These topics range from heritage and conservation, urban design, environment and ecology, socio- cultural, and future visions. Studentshave the freedom to choose the area of their interest and synthesize the same in the form of Architectural design.

THE STRUCTURE
