Pedagogy of first year

An envisioning of architecture is inadequate without proper consideration of the relationship between space and the human experience. With this in mind, we at PVPCOA, explore methods to observe, map and decode space experience with our first-year students, as a way to enhance architecture beyond a form-making exercise. We horizontally integrate design with technology and transcend disciplinary boundaries to include fields like visual and performing arts, literature, history, and sociology.

We encourage students to explore their diverse backgrounds in order to understand that architecture is not a mere building making exercise but a combination of intuitive skills and cultural backgrounds
